While walking through the market last week, I was bombarded by the amazing smell of cinnamon from every direction. When I got home, I began looking for a simple craft to bring the same aroma into my home so I can feel like the season here in Los Angeles has truly turned to Fall.
All you need is a glass votive holder, cinnamon sticks, a rubber band, some raffia, and of course, a candle. Jonathan Fong Style gives a very quick and simple tutorial on creating the votive pictured above.
I find it most economical to buy cinnamon sticks in bulk from the local ethnic foods market, plus you can use your own bag instead of spending too much for only 5 or 6 sticks in a glass jar at the local big name supermarket. If you already have a votive and tealight candle, this project could cost less than a dollar per votive!
