New Baby On-the-Go Kit

New Baby On-the-Go Kit

I never really was the master of my diaper bag. With one hand I'd reach in, dig around, and fling various packets and tubes out all over the place while simultaneously holding a baby down with the other hand. If I'd had something like this baby-on-the-go kit, diaper changes would've been a lot more organized and a lot less slapstick.

Nicole Mallalieu is a designer, pattern maker, and mother who wanted to create useful, handmade items for the new moms in her circle of friends. Recalling the need for a soft spot to lay a baby for a spontaneous diaper change, she designed this compact pad with pockets to hold all the various supplies securely so the entire thing can be whipped out with one hand. So smart! Her friends are so lucky, and lucky for us, Nicole has been generous enough to offer the pattern as a free, downloadable PDF at Whip Up, where she was a guest blogger this week.
