"Hana" means "flower" in Japanese and "Posy" is a term commonly used for "bouquet" in England. Together, these two words describe the European style of Hana & Posy's environmentally responsible floral arrangements. Through their selection of gifts, Hana & Posy offers unique, stylish, and high quality eco-friendly products, including baby, stationary, beauty, home décor, and pet products.

Hana & Posy was started by Kayo Higashimura, a trained veterinarian who previously ran a veterinary hospital in the South Jersey area and worked at the National Zoo in Washington D.C.. The store was born of Kayo's desire to be more eco-friendly in her own life. She wanted to establish a company in which searching for and making eco-friendly choices was an integral part of the company's philosophy. To that end, in addition to offering eco-friendly products and services, Hana & Posy uses antique furniture throughout the store, composts and recycles their waste, and used recycled materials in building their store. Kayo and her team of trained floral designers are passionate about their work, and seek to incorporate the unexpected in their arrangements. They are also huge animal lovers, and leashed pets are welcome within the store, where Solo, Kayo's adopted rescue dog, is sure to make them feel welcome.
